Effects of Varying Wind Angles and Increasing Concentration on Air Pollutant Dispersion from Cooling Towers to Urban Area using Computational Fluid Dynamics Software

چکیده

Managing and improving the air quality across urban areas can be achieved by studying transport behaviour of pollutants. In this work, effects varying wind angles increasing concentration on pollutant dispersion from cooling towers to area were investigated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software; OpenFOAM modified k-ω SST turbulence closure acquire steady-state flow field based Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes Equation (RANS) approach. The results showed that direction for velocity profile (1 0 0) (Cos30 Sin30) (Cos45 Sin45) affected pollution with worst scenario being 0). addition, reducing diffusivity constant (Dt), thus concentration, 0.02 0.001 increased considerably. This research shows benefit applying CFD approach toward managing challenges dispersion.

Analysis of Chlorine Gas Incident Simulation and Dispersion Within a Complex and Populated Urban Area Via Computation Fluid Dynamics

In some instances, it is inevitable that large amounts of potentially hazardous chemicals like chlorine gas are stored and used in facilities in densely populated areas. In such cases, all safety issues must be carefully considered. To reach this goal, it is important to have accurate information concerning chlorine gas behaviors and how it is dispersed in dense urban areas. Furthermore, mainta...

Experimental study and application of computational fluid dynamics on the prediction of air velocity and temperature in a ventilated chamber

The shape of the air flow in the interior is heavily influenced by the air distribution system and the way air enters and exits. By numerically simulating flow by computational fluid dynamics, one can determine the flow pattern and temperature distribution and, with the help of the results, provide an optimal design of the air conditioning system. In this study, a chamber was first constructed ...
